This is a very convenient and very mobile solution to cooling hot rooms down very effectively, without huge electric bills- as no refridgeration is involved. This type of cooler is very effective for Asthma suffers or for people who uses nebulisers or CPAP equipment (as I do), as this type of cooler puts out moist air. Just pour plain and simple water, or cooled water/ finely crushed ice into the top of the reservoir filler (which has a fill guage), at this stage you can put in drops of fragrance/ essential oil/ olbas oil droplets into the water you are pouring in, to fragrance the air. Select the fan speed (depends how many rooms you want to cool), make sure that the windows and doors are open, then select the temperature and away you go! The Air Conditioner works on the principle of pumping water slowly out of the reservoir tank, up to the top of the back of the machine, where it is dispersed along a spreader bar, where it then trickles down through a netted Aspen Wood shavings filter, back into the reservoir, to be re-circulated again. The pump is driven off the rear of the fan spindle via a figure of eight rubber belt, the circulation pump has an external filter housing which needs to b e cleaned out periodically. The netted Aspen Wood rear main air filter, can be removed from the unit and flushed out with warm/hot water under the shower or rinsed in the bath, but it must be thoroughly dried out again before using the cooler unit.
Please note: This air conditioner works on the principle of dry air, if the air incoming to the room passes past 70% humidity it's effectiveness is reduced, in which case, turn off the evaporating pump and just use the very effective 3 speed fan. It is important also to drain any unused water out of the reservoir tank when the unit is not being used (water algae build up), this is done by placing a 2 gallon bucket under the left hand end and removing the drainplug- the waste water can be usec to water your plants in the summer, yes the sun does come out sometimes! The is a ceramic heater element built in the front of the fan housing, it has a 2 KW load, which can be used with the 3 fan speeds.
